The “Geek Chic” movement is something worth dropping your jaw for. Whether it was taylor swift dancing around in her “You Belong with me” Video or if it was Rachel [Lea Michelle] from glee, this is trend is definitely a must! There’s something so sexy about menswear on a woman. Because to pull your hair back, slip on some glasses and throw on a button up makes u look educated. And Classic Geek Glasses [A must have!]; Amazon.com for 3.99

The next I’ve thrown together is a tad more winter appropriate. Now remember it’s all about school wear/ the prep look J

Basic Full skirt: Forever 21 for 12.50

Maxi Dress

Ahhh the maxi dress. My own personal go to for “bumming it”. You don’t have to worry about if you forgot to shave your legs nor do you have to scramble for both top and bottom pieces. It’s effortlessly beautiful. The maxi dress first appeared in 1970’s during the hippie movement. I know a lot of girls who are “Petite” aren’t sure if they can pull this look off. It elongates your body making you look taller and slender. Wear it with heels and people will be sure compliment you on how tall you look. Now when talking about this OMG I find one celeb in particular pulls it off the best. Nicole Richie has worn this dress a million times and each time she looks brand new. She truly embodies the essence of the maxi dress. She captures its simplicity and versatility. Whether she pairs it with peep toe pumps and a leather jacket for a rock/edgy vibe or adds a gold hairline head band and boho flats; it’s always elegant. The dress that I have picture I found on amazon.com for 32.99. It’s beyond gorgeous and easy to mimic one of Nicole Richie’s Maxi-looks. Bun your hair and throw on a cropped denim jacket and your done! I wore an orange one today with neutral woven wedges. Def. an OMG to stay J

Fedora Est.1910

I don't know if it was looking thru thousands of eBay pages and seeing them with almost every outfit or if it was the recollection of summer but I'm hooked. I tried to find a date, because fashion is and was history. The early 1900’s is the furthest date back in time i could fine. It was most likely started with Sarah Bernhardt, a French actress who in a play in 1882 started wearing a hat that was similar to a fedora. The hat at the specific time didn't have a name, but Sarah's characters name was Princes Fedora & the rest is history.

Fedora started to lose its appeal in 1960's because cars became more compact and it became a hassle to wear them. But today are worn but nearly everyone. Stars like Ashlee Simpson and more famously Megan fox have been spotted wearing the trend. There versatile, wear them with jeans or dresses, shorts or skirts and my personal favorite- Romper. This is truly a simple but classic look that works well for anyone!!
